Privacy Policy

Valyou (valyoudeals.com) is an Australian retail discovery platform that curates online sales, promo codes, and limited-time offers from Australian brands. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and how we handle it. We handle personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

We collect only what we need to run the service:

• Account details — your email address and password when you create an account. Passwords are stored in hashed form by our authentication provider; we never see or store them in plain text.
• Newsletter details — your email address and, if you choose to share it, your city, so we can send you sale alerts relevant to where you live.
• Messages you send us — if you use our contact form or submit a brand enquiry, we receive the details you provide so we can respond.
• Anonymous usage counts — we count views and clicks on offers in aggregate (e.g. “this offer was clicked 40 times”). These counts are not linked to your identity.

We do not collect payment information — Valyou never processes purchases. When you buy something, that transaction happens on the retailer's own website under their privacy policy.

• To operate your account and let you save offers and follow brands.
• To send you the newsletter and sale alerts you signed up for.
• To respond to your enquiries.
• To understand which offers are popular so we can improve the feed.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with brands or advertisers.

We use your browser's local storage to remember preferences on your device — things like your selected city, offers you've saved, brands you follow, and whether you've subscribed to the newsletter. This data stays in your browser and you can clear it at any time through your browser settings.

When you click through to a retailer from Valyou, the link may be an affiliate link (via networks such as Commission Factory). The retailer or network may use cookies on their own sites to attribute the referral, which is how we earn a commission at no cost to you. That tracking happens on the retailer's side and is governed by their privacy policies.

We rely on a small number of providers to run the service: Supabase (database and authentication), Resend (email delivery), and Vercel (hosting). Each processes data only to provide their service to us. Some providers may store data outside Australia; we choose providers with strong security practices.

You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link in any email we send. You can also ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you — contact us and we'll action it promptly.

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above, and we take reasonable steps to protect it from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access. If we no longer need it, we delete or de-identify it.
